So Cal, Day 2

We lived the SoCal life, relaxing by the pool all day... ah....! Holly & Florene soaking up the sun above.

Shoes & the kids in the hot tub...

James & Blake scheming about something, or perhaps just reciting movie lines to each other?

Hayden & Jordan... thanks, Jordy, for watching out for him in the pool!

Abby gained some serious confidence with her water wings and relatively shallow pool. Goggles gave her an extra view of the water world and kept her busy for quite a while.

Okay, so we didn't just lounge by the pool. (That's our plan for Day 4!) The boys went to an airshow and watched Uncle BigBoy fly his model planes while the girls had our nails done and went shopping. Then, we lounged at the pool!

So Cal, Day 1

Auntie Shoes' craft project that challenged all of our eyesight and patience.

Hayden feeding treats to Manon.

Abby raided Heidi's closet and found a new dress-up dress; Holly came out with less flashy, yet fabulous apparel at the Boutique de Heidi.

Uncle Big Boy and Hayden flying the helicopter inside, giving us "haircuts."

Abby feeling "a little nervous" before take-off.

Hayden getting excited!!

With the 4-wheeled suitcases man-handled by the porters (Abby & Hayden), we hit PDX in fine time (thanks, Papa, for the chauffeuring). California, here we come!

Bug Club!

Abby, Kaitlyn & Hayden became charter members of the Bug Club, collecting tupperware full of worms and "rollie-pollie" bugs. Abby, however, refused to get her hands dirty and managed to convince the others to pick up her bugs and load her container. We are enjoying our new lawn as much as the kids!

Nana's Birthday

Nana celebrated another birthday with the family and a delicious, custom cake from the Market Street Bakery. Happy Birthday!!

Husky Spring Game

Huskies 33 - Huskies 0, starters looked good. Pray for no injuries.

The kids had a great day running, jumping, passing and catching. Then Abby got a picture with a cheerleader and Hayden got an autograph from Husky Hall of Famer Corey Dillon.

Easter

Nana & Papa came over for an Easter Brunch and then helped fill the kids up with chocolate.

The Pantry

After taking out a wall, rebuilding a wall, then rewiring, tiling, plastering, painting and grouting... we finally began to put the shelves in the pantry. For those of you unfortunate enough to see our pantry "before", this will be a welcome greeting to your next visit. There's still more to be done - paint, spackle and organize, but the saw and nail gun were retired for this project as of tonight.

The mess from the pantry invaded the kitchen.

Emptied out.

Much better!
