To Squamish and Back through the Snowmagedon 2008

The hotel was paid for and the Canadians don't let a little snow stop a curling party so off we headed to Vancouver to loaded up on Hon's veggie sweet&sour shrimp (Holly's fav). A drive through the traffic cones to Squamish after an amazing brunch at DB Moderne (Daniel Boulud's new Vancouver digs for those interested (Heidi?)) brought us to the Howe Bay Curling club for the highlight of the weekend - The Doran Ugly Christmas Sweater Curling Party. It was awesome although cold sport and we will be searching for a Seattle curling club for Jeff's birthday. After visiting with the nice Canadians (they are even nicer that the Terrebonnesse), we headed back to Vancouver for more food (Holly - leftover shrimp in the hotel, Jeff - to Guu with Garlic with the hip Japanese kids). The snow hit overnight and we loaded up with crepes for the 8 hour slog home. Now at home preparing for a white Christmas with two feet of snow in the yard.

SNOW!

It has been COLD (25 degrees) but we finally got the snow today. The kids had a snowball fight, cleaned a lot of snow, skied some, and Hayden ever slid his tractor around.

Wearner Girl Visit

The Wearner girls joined us for a Sunday night of homemade yogurt pops, Pony parties, pretend sleepovers and TinkerBell. We will have to watch that Hayden around young Freya.

Christmas Prep

The kids actually helped decorate the tree this year and it only cost one red ball.

Cousins Visit

We had a Thanksgiving Sleepover and a great meal with Nana&Papa.

Fall CleanUp

Thank goodness that we had the tractor.

Joel McHale

The Myth, The Legend...Joel McHale (of The Soup). He is from Seattle, actually Mercer Island, so we caught his stand up show at the Moore. Hilarious especially if you are a fan of "E" and Tyra.

GymAnastics

Hayden understood the figure 8 quite well. It was the balance beam that was his nemesis.

We may have found Abby's sport. She love the structure and bouncing.

Hi-Tech Couple

At one point in my life, I mocked a married couple on separate computers right next to each other, emailing each other and considering that quality time. Now, I am part of that couple. Jeff is reviewing accounting and I am catching up on documentation. Sometimes you just grab the little moments when you can.

Blogging from Word

Of course, I'm supposed to be doing something productive (typing the helper list for Baby Jesus program), but was distracted by Word 2007's enticement of a blog template. Just trying it out.
